I don't know about you but when I started in Affiliate Marketing I had "No Clue". It was very hard, I had no understanding about linking or blogs or any of the jargon being used online. (...)

I don't know about you but when I started in Affiliate Marketing I had "No Clue". It was very hard, I had no understanding about linking or blogs or any of the jargon being used online. I built my first website on something I know nothing about which was Baby Showers. Why Baby Showers, I knew it was a growing niche and maybe just maybe I could make some money from this. I had to produce a product being an Ebook on Baby Showers set up autoresponders and find a payment gateway which ended up being PayPal.

By the time I had done all of this I was about $2000 in the red and had spent six months online constantly marketing this site.

Overtime I quickly learnt a few things about traffic and selling on your own website, but most importantly I realized that not all niches were created equal. There are niches where people are falling over themselves trying to buy the product and there are niches where people want to get everything for free. Yep you guessed my return rate was extremely low and I was constantly receiving emails from my users asking for free advice.

Lets move forward into the future, after realizing that this site was only ever going to be an average performer I then turned to affiliate marketing using a technique I now call the Niche within the Niche. I had to make this site pay and the $50 a week I was making wasn't really a big bonus.

Just to give you an idea of a fantastic niche but with no buyers here are my stats for the complete year 2007 I had 732,000 visits in one year!

As you can see these stats on this site a very good but still no actual steady ebook sales. I also was receiving around 120 subscribers a day all asking for free information so I set up an autoresponder series using Aweber to send out all the free information my subscribers were asking for. The email consisted of just a teaser to the topic and if they wanted more they had to visit the page that was set up. This page contained adsense and also affiliate links which was now being put right in front of them.

The end result was an increase in ebooks sales but again nothing spectacular an additional income stream from adsense of $300+ a week plus something that even surprised me…

I was also promoting clickbank products and after some trial and error I found the right mix of products that were working on the site. I also make around $300 a week from Shareasale products as well.

You can see for yourself with a little persistence and some determination you can turn your online busines around,I have gone from making $50 a week and considering just letting the website go and staying in my 9 to 5 job to now creating a passive income on auto pilot that is worth over $100,000 a year.

Set your goals and stick to them and you will succeed in affiliate marketing. I have now created seven websites that are doing just this I have only shown you one of my clickbank accounts I have six. So you can see there are Benefits in Affiliate Marketing if you just choose to be persistent and patient.

Over the past three years I have been very successful in promoting affiliate products online. However in saying that there has been a huge shift in the search engines when it comes to Web 2.0 vs Html.

Ok so what am I basing this on, my own stats and search engine rankings. I have around thirty pages of Html that are specially for promoting affiliate products and up until around February 2008 every page was in the top 10 of Google. Something changed when I noticed my rankings starting to drop and not just by 1 or 2 positions it was more like 10 to 20 each time the search engines updated their search results.

You could imagine my thoughts all I saw was my affiliate business sliding away at a fast pace so I had to find out what was going on. After doing some research and trying to discover why some of my sites had slide away something stood out very plainly Web 2.0. And it really doesn't matter what niche you are in Web 2.0 applications are starting to rank very highly.

The reason I believe is that internet users are now being conditioned to the Web 2.0 application and this is proving to be very popular in the search engine rankings. Web 2.0 is also very suited to the Search Engines as content is constantly being updated y rss feeds and user comments.

Some of the more predominate Web 2.0 applications are sites such as Squidoo and Hubpages they have a tendency to rank very high with Google then followed by blogs that are hosted on their own domains not free hosting. Even though on occasion I have seen free hosting sites rank high which is a good indication that there is opportunity in that niche to get a page one listing very easily.

Something else I have found that is knocking normal Html pages down the rankings are when you have a very popular product and I will use Regcure as an example. The forums are being bombarded with specific questions about this product which in turn leads to fresh content many times a day. The result is the search engines are lifting these sites to the top of the search engines because of all the very specific posts being made about one product.

We all crave Google PR believing this will get us to number #1 but sometimes this just isn't enough to get you ranked high as I have found with the Html pages which are all PR3 I have web 2.0 sites that have Zero PR out ranking me on a regular basis.

I have also found that using a Web 2.0 Application such as this one Semiologic and using the plugins that come with it I can usually have a showing in the search engines within 24hrs not weeks using normal Html Pages. This alone can decide your fate online getting indexed is everything to an affiliate marketer.

Hopefully this will give you more of an idea of which format you should be using online when wanting to promote your affiliate products. You can still use Html but it will be a long hard road compared to using an effective Web 2.0 Application.

As an affiliate marketer the most beneficial result for you is to be placed highly in the organic listings of the search engines especially the "Big G". (...)

As an affiliate marketer the most beneficial result for you is to be placed highly in the organic listings of the search engines especially the "Big G". This is really a break down of how well your page will do depending on the rankings you receive from the search engines. Google or the Big G" is accountable for about 60% to 70% of all searches on the internet so you need to be focused here.

It is every bodies dream as a marketer and especially an affiliate marketer to be listed as the number one web site for your preferred keyword. And here's is why…

When being on the first page of any search engine results is just not good enough.

Statistics have shown that just because you have a high listing on the search engines through organic listings that you still do not receive all the traffic. You have to remember that there are Pay Per Click listings which take about 30 percent of the traffic immediately and that is usually only the top 3 paid ads achieving this depending of course on the ad title and ad relevance to the search term.

Now to break down the organic listing and I really have nothing but my own stats to work on but I have found the same across all of my websites.

The number one listing on the "Big G" and taking into account that the listing is relevant to the search term will receive between 20% and 25% of all the clicks for that search term.

Now here is where it gets interesting…

The Second listing in the organic results drops away considerably with only a 5% to 6% click thru rate.

The Third organic listing receives even less with a 4% to 5% click thru rate and the rest of the organic listing right down to position 10 seem to drop away by a percentage point the further you go down the rankings. Actually the tenth position is only receiving about 1% to 1.5% of any traffic for the relevant keyword.

And if you look even harder at the statistics you will notice something else and that is about 30% of all traffic for the specific keyword does not even click on a listing. This is usually due to the fact that none of the title text has caught their attention so they move on with a more refined search.

In conclusion what I have found overall that out of 100% of possible click through rates there will be 30% to 35% to paid advertising then about 30% to 35% organic listings and then you have those that found nothing of interest and have moved on about 30% of the time.

So how did I discover this and why did I do the research. As an affiliate marketer making money the cheapest way possible online is essential the lower the overhead the more profit right. I had noticed a huge downturn in one of my product promotions from making $500 a day down to some days nothing but usually $50 a day. i just had to find out why so I pulled all of my stats and logs and have analyzed the hell out of them and this is what I came up with. The tool I used to base the traffic on was Keyword Elite from Brad Callen and yes i understand that no one tool is completely accurate but I just needed a tool that was fast and very easy to use.

Plagiarism An Affiliate Marketer's Nightmare

Over the past few weeks I have had three of my sites, which were product review sites plagiarized. (...)

Over the past few weeks I have had three of my sites, which were product review sites plagiarized. The sheer fact that another webmaster just downloads all of your content, images and then tries to call them there own is just ridiculous. We all know it goes on and it is very hard to stop so I am going to give you some tips on how to prevent this from happening.

The downside is that usually the site has been live for a few weeks before you find out about it. What these innovative affiliate marketers don't realize is the damage that will occur to their site and possibly the product vendors site that they are now promoting with stolen content. The least they can expect is a loss of credibilty for the product they are promoting.

So what actions have I taken to prevent this from happening..

Firstly I always try to do the right thing by contacting the webmaster of the site via email and advising them that there is a problem with there site content. Usually I add the copyscape stats to the email so they have it in plain sight that the content has been copied. .

While waiting for a response from the webmaster I am also gathering up all the information about the site from the publish date using Alexa Wayback Machine or Google Cache. I then find the product vendors details and also the affiliate id.

Once I have all the information I need to prove that my site has been plagiarized I then wait to see what damage has been done. If the offending content has been removed and I have not lost any standing in the search engines I do nothing.

If I receive no response I then contact Google through my webmaster tools account if you hav'nt got one get one. I then also contact the affiliate network and the vendor which usually results in the affiliate account being cancelled.

Hopefully this gives you an insight into what you need to do to stop your site content being stolen. There are many new people trying to make it big online and they really have no understanding about what it is they are actually doing.

By copying someone else's website they are limiting their own online business to the extent of being de-indexed from the search engines which at the end of the day means they have a very limited existence online. There are so many differnet ways to make money online today without stealing site content.

Message From Google

We take the quality or our results very seriously, and we thoroughly investigate every report of deceptive practises and take appropriate action. We will remove websites from our index immediately, so they dont show up in the search results.

As angry as this will make you, STAY CALM you will win in the end. Google takes this very seriously and in some cases these sites can disappear forever and only after a few days of sending them an email through your webmaster tools account.

What is this strange looking image. If you don't know yet it is what is being called the IContent Robot and it is setting a new standard in unique content creation.

I am sure you have heard the term content is king and have probably even been out there buying all the PLR content you can find.

Well the future is here… And Latif is leading the way!

What if you could create as many unique content pages that you liked all at the click of a button. What if you could fill these pages with adsense or affiliate links and make a killing. What if you could generate massive amounts of traffic to your online busines. All of this and more is IContent Robot.

No more wasted hours staring at that blank piece of paper hoping an article will just appear. No more using re-hashed PLR content that can be flagged by the search engines. Nothing but clean keyword rich unique content for you r blogs, websites or articles sumissions.

I have spent the last two weeks creating content with IContent Robot so check out my review on IContent Robot
